“But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.”
1 John 2:20
Oh, how I long these days to preach or do ministry with the Unction of the Holy One! Oh, how I crave the Unction that will cause my message or sermon to pierce the hearts of my listeners. Oh, how I crave for Holy Spirit-inspired message, causing my words to become bullets of conviction. The truth is that without the Holy Spirit moving in and through me, I will not be able to function with remarkable results. Beloved, you don’t have to be in ministry to covet the move of the Holy Spirit in your life. The anointing is relevant to all Christians in all fields of human endeavour. If you are a business person, the unction is relevant to you! You sure need unction to function in your particular area of business. With this Unction, your business will stand out from others. Are you a professional? Surely, you need the Unction too! Whatever your area of work, Unction is a necessity!
Let’s consider 3 examples of individuals that functioned via the Unction of the Holy Spirit:
- Samson
In Judges 14:19, we are told that when the Spirit of the Lord came upon Samson, he went down to Ashkelon and slew thirty men and took their spoil. Samson was a man greatly endowed with power by the Spirit of the Lord. He was able to function maximally because of the Unction. - Peter
As soon as Peter got baptised with the Holy Spirit, he became a spiritual dynamo. The man who was not able to stand before a maid could now stand before thousands of people to preach. What was the difference? The Unction of the Holy Spirit of course! - Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ had an Unction to function in His ministry. He wouldn’t have been able to go about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil if not for the Unction of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
Acts 10:38
The anointing is for “doing”!
It was the anointing that enabled our Lord Jesus Christ to carry out His assignment on earth with outstanding proof. You too can command outstanding results in your God-given assignment or vocation via the Unction of the Holy Spirit.
I decree and declare that you will be endowed with Unction to function in your area of assignment in Jesus’ mighty name!
