Knowledge of God

“Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.”
Proverbs 2:5
Why is the Knowledge of God critical to our existence on earth? Knowing God personally is germane to our well-being and spirituality. These days many people are not keen on seeking the knowledge of God, but they are keen on knowing other areas of life. Knowledge of God is not technical or scientific knowledge. Knowledge of God is not knowledge of history or geography.
Knowledge of God is understanding or comprehending God as a Person and His ways. Knowledge of God is in short supply in our world. So many people lack the knowledge of God.
Growth in the knowledge of God is very fundamental and critical. We must accept responsibility to grow or increase our knowledge of God!
“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;”
Colossians 1:10
3 pathways to the knowledge of God
1. Hearing the words of God
“He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the highest, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:”
Numbers 24:16
Is hearing the word enough? Hearing the word is not in short supply but doing the word is.
2. Teaching
“And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers.”
2 Chronicles 30:22
The Levites of today are the Men of God!
3. Revelation
“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:”
Ephesians 1:17
Revelation is an interesting or surprising fact about God that is made known to an individual
3 benefits of the knowledge of God
1. Grace and peace multiplied
“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,”
2 Peter 1:2
2. Strength
“And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
Daniel 11:32
3. Rewards
“So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.”
Pro 24:14
I decree and declare that you shall take delivery of the benefits of knowing God personally in Jesus’ mighty name.
Yours sincerely,
