“Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.”
2 Timothy 1:11
God is still in the business of appointing people into offices and special assignments. A divine appointment is never based on human qualifications. You don’t come before God with your human credentials and say: “Sir, here are my qualifications, kindly appoint me into this office.” No! It is God that qualifies us for His appointments. Humanly speaking, who could have imagined that a former persecutor of the church would become an appointed vessel, through which God chose to do His works?
Paul played a significant role in the advancement of the church of God more than all the apostles put together!
God never bothered about his ugly past! Once you are saved, you become a new creature! From human consideration, David was not qualified to have been appointed ruler over Israel! God is never interested in our abilities but in our availability. If we make ourselves available to Him, He then qualifies us to serve in any office or capacity. We don’t choose or appoint ourselves, He does the appointment. The Bible says, “And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.”
2 Samuel 6:21
Let’s consider 3 kinds of appointments:
1. Appointment of places
God does appoint places for His children! For instance, God can appoint a place or country of abode for you and your family. If you consult Him, He can even show you a neighbourhood, community or housing estate to live in. The Bible says, “Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as before time,”
2 Samuel 7:10
2. Appointment into political office
God was behind the political appointment of Joseph in Egypt!
“And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch, as God hath showed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according to unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.”
Genesis 41:39-40
3. Appointment into spiritual office
Aaron and his sons were appointed to serve in a spiritual office of priesthood! The Bible says, “And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.”
Numbers 3:10
I decree your appointment to an office or a place where you will serve God’s ultimate purpose in Jesus’ mighty name!
Yours sincerely,
